Yes — the T950 10"x5" High Tom works on the Roland TD-4 as a 1-zone tom: head only.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → T1, T2, T3 connectors on the trigger input cable

The Roland TD-4 tom inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the T1, T2, or T3 connector on the trigger input cable.

Press [MENU], choose "8 PAD SETTINGS" with the SEL buttons, and press [OK].
Strike a tom to select its T1, T2, or T3 input (or pick it with the [-/+] dial at the MENU screen).
Use the SEL buttons to select "Pad Type", then set it with the [-/+] dial to PD-8, PD-85, or PD-105 to match your tom.
If needed, fine-tune "Sensitivity" (1-32) in PAD SETTINGS, and "Threshold" under Advanced Edit.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
