Setup — T950 10"x5" High Tom on Roland TD-8

Works

The T950 10"x5" High Tom is fully supported on your Roland TD-8.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 inputs (1/4" TRS jacks)

Dual-zone tom triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection per tom input.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER] > [BANK].
  2. Navigate to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input.
  3. Set the trigger type to PD-85 depending on your pad size.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
