T950 10"x5" High Tom on Donner DED-500

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 10"x5" High Tom when used with the Donner DED-500.

Yes — the T950 10"x5" High Tom works on the Donner DED-500 as a 1-zone tom: head only.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1/TOM2/TOM3 leads on the DB25 harness (TOM4 is a discrete expansion jack)

The DED-500 manual does not confirm dual-zone tom inputs; conservatively treated as single-zone. Only the head zone will trigger; rim hits will not produce a separate sound.

Cable routing

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 lead on the module's DB25 signal-connection harness (the harness plugs into the module's "Data In" port).
A fourth tom uses the discrete TOM4 1/4" jack on the module's jack panel.

Module settings

Upon the setting interface, select TRIG and press [ENTER] to enter the trigger interface, then use the [◀]/[▶] buttons to select the Tom pad.
Adjust Sensibility, Threshold, Curve, and Rim Gain for the rim zone.

Tips

Only the head (center piezo) triggers — the rim switch on the pad is ignored by this module.
A TS cable also works since only the tip signal is read.
