T950 10"x5" High Tom on ATV aD5
Setup — T950 10"x5" High Tom on ATV aD5
Use as 1-zone tomYes — the T950 10"x5" High Tom works on the ATV aD5 as a 1-zone tom: head only.
Head
Rim
Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → the "T1", "T2" and "T3" plugs on the aD5's multi-trigger cable
The aD5's TOM1, TOM2, and TOM3 inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from each tom pad to the plug labelled "T1", "T2" or "T3" on the aD5's multi-trigger cable.
Module settings
- In the home screen open the menu, select the [SYSTEM] tab and press [TRIGGER] (p.32).
- The aD5 sets a pad up by manufacturer and model, and ATV's Pad Compatibility List covers ATV, Yamaha, Roland, ddrum and 2BOX — so pick the closest listed pad (p.32).
- Either set [Pad Brand] and [Model] on the MODEL page and press [OK] (p.32), or run [Trigger Setup Wizard], which asks for the same brand and model and then has you play your own softest and strongest strokes on the tom (pp.33–34). The wizard is the better route here, because it measures the pad you actually have.
- On the ADJUST page set Sensitivity so the shot meter reads ff on your hardest stroke, and Curve so a medium stroke reads mf (p.36).
- On the FINE ADJUST page raise Threshold if a tom fires from a neighbouring pad or from floor vibration (p.37).
Tips
- The head triggers from the center piezo; the rim is not read on these inputs.
