Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → T1, T2, T3 connectors on the trigger input cable
The Roland TD-4 tom inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the T1, T2, or T3 connector on the trigger input cable.
Module settings
- Press [MENU] > 8 PAD SETTINGS and press [OK].
- Strike a tom or use SEL to navigate to the T1, T2, or T3 input.
- Set the Pad Type to PD-8, PD-85, or PD-105 depending on your pad size.
Tips
- Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
- Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
