T950 10"x5" High Tom on Roland TD-1

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 10"x5" High Tom when used with the Roland TD-1.

Setup — T950 10"x5" High Tom on Roland TD-1

Use as 1-zone tom

Yes — the T950 10"x5" High Tom works on the Roland TD-1 as a 1-zone tom: head only.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 connectors on the DB-25 cable snake

The Roland TD-1 tom inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press the [Select] button to select Drums mode, then long-press the [Metronome] button so the mode lamp blinks (Making Detailed Settings).
  2. Press the [Select] button to blink the Drums mode lamp (Adjust the Pad Sensitivity).
  3. Play the tom pad, then use the [-] [+] buttons to adjust its sensitivity.
  4. Press the [Metronome] button to complete the setting.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
T950 10"x5" High Tom also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
