Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 lead on the signal-connection harness, or the discrete CRASH2 expansion jack
Dual-zone cymbal triggering supported on the Crash inputs.
Cable routing
- Connect the cymbal to the CRASH1 lead on the module's signal-connection harness using a standard 1/4" TRS cable, or to the discrete CRASH2 1/4" jack on the module's rear panel.
- The DED-400's main pads (Snare, Kick, Tom1–3, Hi-Hat, Crash1, Ride) all route through the supplied signal-connection harness (multi-pin parallel-port connector into the TRIGGER INPUT port); only the TOM4 and CRASH2 expansion inputs are individual 1/4" jacks on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press the MENU button, use +/- to select 2-PAD SET, and press OK to enter the pad parameter interface.
- Tap the crash pad to select it, then press + / - to choose a parameter and turn the encoder to set the value (press OK to confirm).
- Set Pad Sen (surface/bow sensitivity, 1-6), Rim Sen (edge sensitivity), Threshold (trigger threshold, 1-32), Xtalk (crosstalk threshold, 1-32), and Volume (0-127) so bow and edge hits register cleanly.
- Press SAVE to store the settings.
Tips
- Dual-zone bow and edge triggering is supported on crash inputs.
