20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons Titan 70

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Simmons Titan 70.

Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons Titan 70

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Simmons Titan 70 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → the "To Ride" branch of the multi-pin cable harness

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the ride branch of the harness for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The Titan 70 has a single ride connection, so you get two of the ride's three zones.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the branch of the multi-pin cable harness labeled "To Ride".

Module settings

  1. Press the SETUP button, then strike the ride pad to select it (the LED at the right of the display shows which input is selected).
  2. Press SETUP repeatedly to step through Sens, Retrigger, Threshold, Curve, and X-Talk until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  3. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-edge or crash sample on the second zone.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → the "To Ride" branch of the multi-pin cable harness

Prefer the bell to the edge? A one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) puts bow + bell on the Ride 2 cable. The Titan 70 voices a ride bell — its note defaults list Ride Bow, Ride Bell and Ride Edge Crash as three separate notes.

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the branch of the multi-pin cable harness labeled "To Ride".
