20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland Octapad SPD-30
Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland Octapad SPD-30
Use as 2-zone rideYes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Roland Octapad SPD-30 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Plug: Ride 1
Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack with a CY Pad Type
Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into an external trigger input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SPD-30's external inputs read two sounds per pad (Inst Head + Inst Rim), so the ride drives two of its three zones here.
Cable routing
- Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to an EXTERNAL TRIGGER INPUT jack.
Module settings
- Press [MENU] > PAD > EXTERNAL to open the "PAD SETTING-EXTERNAL" screen.
- Hit the ride to select its input.
- Turn [Knob 1] (SEL) to select "Pad Type", then turn [Knob 3] (–/+) to set a CY profile such as CY-14C or CY-12R/C.
- In [MENU] > INST, assign a ride-bow wave to Inst Head and a ride-edge or crash wave to Inst Rim.
Tips
- This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
