Works

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-27: bow + bell + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: RD + RDB connectors on the DB-25 cable snake → Ride 1 + Ride 2

Full 3-zone ride — the manual instructs connecting a ride that supports three-way triggering to the RD and RDB connectors of the dedicated connection cable.

Cable routing

  2. Plug the RDB (ride bell) connector on the cable snake into the cymbal's Ride 2 output (bell).

Module settings

  1. Press [SYSTEM], select "TRIGGER" and press [ENTER], then select "BANK" and press [ENTER] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
  2. Strike the ride (display shows "R") or use the cursor buttons to select the RIDE input.
  3. Use the dial to set the Trig Type to the model that matches your ride cymbal.
  4. Back on the TRIGGER MENU, open "PARAM", select the ride, then set Sensitivity from the cursor + dial.

Tips

  1. Both leads are required for full 3-zone operation (bell, bow, edge).
  2. If only one lead is connected, the ride will function as 2-zone only.
  3. The DIGITAL TRIGGER IN jacks support the CY-18DR digital ride, but Lemon cymbals use the analog snake inputs.
  4. If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, follow the bell and edge section of the ride setup guide.
20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
