20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Millenium MPS-1000

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Millenium MPS-1000.

Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Millenium MPS-1000

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Millenium MPS-1000 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: Ride plug on the multiple cable → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug the ride plug into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The MPS-1000 reads three ride zones, but only from its own single-cable ride design: the multiple cable has one ride connection, so two of the Lemon ride's zones reach the module.

Ride setup and troubleshooting guide ›

Cable routing

  1. Plug the multiple cable's labelled ride plug into the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge).

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], select 'ADVANCE' and press [ENTER], then hit the ride to select it; set 'SENSITIVITY', 'HEADROOM' and 'PEAK DECAY', and balance the edge with 'RIM VELOCITY' and 'RIM MODIFIER'.
  2. If an edge hit plays a bell sound, press [EDIT], hit the edge so the module shows which ride trigger it fired, and set that trigger's 'VOICE' to a ride-edge sound.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
  2. Ride MIDI notes on this module: bow = 51, bell = 53, edge = 59.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: Ride plug on the multiple cable → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

After the one-time cymbal rewire Ride 2 carries bow + bell into the multiple cable's single ride connection. The MPS-1000 has ride-bell sounds to assign to the second zone.

Rewire guide ›

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Plug the multiple cable's labelled ride plug into the cymbal's Ride 2 output.
