20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM10 MKII

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis DM10 MKII.

Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM10 MKII

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis DM10 MKII as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable snake

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the RIDE connector for bow + edge — no cymbal modification.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press Trigger to enter the Trigger Interface, then select the RIDE input.
  2. Adjust Threshold, Head Sensitivity, Rim Sens, and Curve until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  3. Assign the sounds per zone: Kit → F2-Edit → F1-Voice, strike the zone, then set Voice Number — a ride-bow voice on the bow, a ride-edge or crash voice on the second zone.
  4. Press F3-Save to keep the settings — otherwise they are lost when you power off the module.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable snake

After the one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min), the Ride 2 cable carries bow + bell.

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press Trigger to enter the Trigger Interface, then select the RIDE input.
  2. Adjust Threshold, Head Sensitivity, Rim Sens, and Curve until bow and bell strikes register cleanly.
  3. Assign the sounds per zone: Kit → F2-Edit → F1-Voice, strike the zone, then set Voice Number — a ride-bow voice on the bow, a ride-bell voice on the second zone.
  4. Press F3-Save to keep the settings — otherwise they are lost when you power off the module.

Tips

  1. The module still labels that second zone as the rim/edge zone — the label is cosmetic, the voice you assign to it is what you hear.
20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
