20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM10 MKII

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis DM10 MKII.

Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM10 MKII

Works

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 2-zone crash on the Alesis DM10 MKII: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Crash 1 on the DB-25 cable snake, or the rear-panel Crash 2 Trigger Input

A DB-25 cable snake plus two rear-panel ¼″ TRS trigger inputs, Crash 2 and Tom 4. Updated DM10 platform. Bow and edge read independently over one TRS cable; the edge zone is tuned with Rim Sens.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the Crash 1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake, or to the Crash 2 Trigger Input on the rear panel (¼″ TRS) — either reads bow and edge.

Module settings

  1. Press Trigger to enter the trigger interface page, then hit the Crash pad to select it.
  2. Adjust Head Sensitivity, Rim Sens, and Threshold to taste.
  3. Press F3-Save to keep the settings — otherwise they are lost when you power off the module.

Tips

  1. Set Rim Sens to tune the edge-zone response.
  2. The DM10 MKII retains the same trigger architecture as the original DM10.
20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
