Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis Crimson III.

Setup — 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Crimson III

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis Crimson III as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: RIDE connector on the cable snake → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug the RIDE connector into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the RIDE connector on the cable snake into the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge).

Module settings

  1. Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger and select the RIDE input.
  2. Adjust Head (Bow) Sensi, Rim (Edge) Sensi, and Threshold until bow and edge strikes register cleanly — Rim (Edge) Sensi tunes the second zone, which carries the edge signal here.
  3. Assign the sounds per zone: Kit → F1 (Sound), strike the zone, then change the sound — a ride-bow voice on the bow, a ride-edge or crash voice on the second zone.
  4. Press the F3 (Save) button after editing — otherwise the edited data is lost after powering off.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: RIDE connector on the cable snake → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

After the one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min), Ride 2 carries bow + bell.

Rewire guide ›

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Plug the RIDE connector on the cable snake into the cymbal's Ride 2 output.

Module settings

  1. Go to Kit → Menu → Trigger and select the RIDE input.
  2. Adjust Head (Bow) Sensi and Threshold for the bow. The rewired bell arrives on the ring conductor — tune it with Rim (Edge) Sensi, which is the ring zone on this module. (The separate Bell Sensi parameter tunes the module's own triple-zone ride and is not the control for this setup.)
  3. Assign the sounds per zone: Kit → F1 (Sound), strike the zone, then change the sound — a ride-bow voice on the bow, a ride-bell voice on the second zone.
  4. Press the F3 (Save) button after editing — otherwise the edited data is lost after powering off.
13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
