Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Simmons SD1500 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: The "To Ride" branch of the multi-pin cable harness → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug the ride branch of the harness into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SD1500 has a single ride connection, so you get two of the ride's three zones.

  1. Plug the branch of the multi-pin cable harness labeled "To Ride" into the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge).

Module settings

  1. Press [UTILITY], then [MENU] to open Trigger Setup.
  2. Select the Ride input (strike the pad or use its Pad Select button).
  3. Step with [PAGE -/+] and adjust Sensitive, Thresh, Curve, Retrig-C, X-Talk, Splash-S until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  4. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-edge or crash sample on the second zone.

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: The "To Ride" branch of the multi-pin cable harness → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

Prefer the bell to the edge? A one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) puts bow + bell on Ride 2. The SD1500 voices a ride bell — its note chart lists a ride bow, bell and edge note separately.

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Plug the branch of the multi-pin cable harness labeled "To Ride" into the cymbal's Ride 2 output.
