13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM7X
Setup — 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis DM7X
Use as 1-zone rideYes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis DM7X as a 1-zone ride: bow only.
Bell
Bow
Edge
Wiring: 1× TRS from the ride cymbal (Ride 2 output) → RIDE connector on the cable snake — bow only
The DM7X's RIDE input is single-zone — it triggers one note (MIDI note 51 = bow). A Lemon 3-zone ride plays as a bow-only ride; bell and edge won't register.
Cable routing
- Connect one 1/4" TRS cable from the ride cymbal's Ride 2 output to this module's RIDE input.
Module settings
- Hit the ride pad, or press its Pad Select button, so the module selects the RIDE input.
- Press Utility, then press Page/Select until SEN (Pad sensitivity) appears, and set it with the < and > buttons so bow strikes register cleanly.
- Press Page/Select until THR (Pad threshold) appears, and set it with the < and > buttons.
- Press Save to keep the settings — otherwise they return to defaults when you power the module off.
Tips
- The RIDE input triggers a single note (51), so bell and edge hits sound the same as the bow.
13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
