13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on ATV EXS-3

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the ATV EXS-3.

Setup — 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on ATV EXS-3

Works

Yes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the ATV EXS-3: bow + bell + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 2× TRS: bow/edge → RD, bow/bell → CUP (BEL) on the multi-trigger cable

Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The EXS-3 (xD3 sound module) has a two-cable ride input — the RD lead reads bow (tip) + edge (ring) and the separate CUP (BEL) lead reads the bell. The manual states the three-zone ride input requires two pad cables, which the Lemon ride provides.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RD lead on the multi-trigger cable.
  2. Connect the ride's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to the CUP (BEL) lead on the multi-trigger cable.

Module settings

  1. Set the ride input's sensitivity and threshold from the ATV EXS-3's own trigger menu so bow, edge, and bell register cleanly — see the ATV EXS-3 manual for the exact menu path and parameter names.

Tips

  1. The three-zone ride needs both pad cables (RD + CUP) — connect both for the bell.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the ride edge.
  3. If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, the two cables are reversed — swap them at the cymbal ends.
13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
