11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash on Roland TD-27

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash when used with the Roland TD-27.

Setup — 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash on Roland TD-27

Works

The 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash is fully supported on your Roland TD-27.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake, or CRASH2 / AUX1 / AUX2 / AUX3 direct jack on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-27 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
  2. For additional cymbals, connect to the CRASH2, AUX1, AUX2, or AUX3 input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP] > Pad Settings > Trig Type.
  2. Navigate to the CRASH1, CRASH2, or AUX input.
  3. Set the trigger type to CY-12C or CY-14C depending on your cymbal size.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
  3. The 3 DIGITAL TRIGGER IN (USB) jacks are for Roland digital pads only.
