15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-27
Setup — 15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-27
WorksYes — the 15" Dual-Zone China works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-27: bow + edge.
Bow
Edge
Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake, or CRASH2 / AUX1 / AUX2 / AUX3 direct jack on the rear panel
Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-27 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
- For additional cymbals, connect to the CRASH2, AUX1, AUX2, or AUX3 input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press [SYSTEM], select "TRIGGER" and press [ENTER], then select "BANK" and press [ENTER] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
- Strike the cymbal (display shows "C1"/"C2") or use the cursor buttons to select the CRASH 1 or CRASH 2 input.
- Use the dial to set the Trig Type to the model that matches your cymbal.
- Back on the TRIGGER MENU, open "PARAM", select the cymbal, then set Sensitivity from the cursor + dial.
Tips
- Bow and edge zones respond independently.
- Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
- The 3 DIGITAL TRIGGER IN (USB) jacks are for Roland digital pads only.
