Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 20"x12" Kick Drum when used with the Roland TD-4.

Setup — T950 20"x12" Kick Drum on Roland TD-4

Works

Yes — the T950 20"x12" Kick Drum works as a full kick on the Roland TD-4: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → KIK connector on the trigger input cable

Single-zone kick trigger via the cable snake. Only the head zone is active.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the KIK connector on the trigger input cable.

Module settings

  1. Press [MENU], choose "8 PAD SETTINGS" with the SEL buttons, and press [OK].
  2. Press the kick to select the KIK input (or pick it with the [-/+] dial at the MENU screen).
  3. Use the SEL buttons to select "Pad Type", then set it with the [-/+] dial to KD-8, KD-85, or KD-120 to match your kick.
  4. If needed, fine-tune "Sensitivity" (1-32) in PAD SETTINGS, and "Threshold" under Advanced Edit.

Tips

  1. Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
  2. A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
T950 20"x12" Kick Drum also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
