T950 20"x12" Kick Drum on Roland TD-1

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 20"x12" Kick Drum when used with the Roland TD-1.

Setup — T950 20"x12" Kick Drum on Roland TD-1

Works

Yes — the T950 20"x12" Kick Drum works as a full kick on the Roland TD-1: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → the "KIK" lead on the dedicated connection cable

Single-zone kick trigger via the dedicated connection cable. Only the head zone is active.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the included dedicated connection cable's "KIK" lead into the Lemon kick pad. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

  1. Press the [Select] button to select Drums mode, then long-press the [Metronome] button so the mode lamp blinks (Making Detailed Settings).
  2. Press the [Select] button to blink the Tempo mode lamp (Changing the Type of Pad).
  3. Play the kick pedal, then use the [-] [+] buttons to set the kick pad type — 1 (TD-1 default value), 2 (KD-9), or 3 (KT-9, KT-10).
  4. Press the [Metronome] button to complete the setting.

Tips

  1. Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
  2. A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
T950 20"x12" Kick Drum also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
