T550 10" Low Tom on Roland TD-07

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 10" Low Tom when used with the Roland TD-07.

Setup — T550 10" Low Tom on Roland TD-07

Reduced — 1-zone toms

The T550 10" Low Tom works on your Roland TD-07 with reduced zones.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 connectors on the DB-25 cable snake

The Roland TD-07 tom inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
  2. Additional tom inputs may be available as direct jacks on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP] > Pad Settings.
  2. Strike a tom pad or navigate to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input.
  3. Set the pad type to a corresponding preset, like PD-85 or PD-105.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
