Setup — T550 10" Low Tom on Roland TD-6
WorksThe T550 10" Low Tom is fully supported on your Roland TD-6.

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1 input (TRIGGER INPUT 4) on the rear panel; additional toms via TOM2/AUX (5/6) and TOM3/4 (7/8) inputs
Only the TOM1 input (TRIGGER INPUT 4) supports dual-zone tom triggering. The TOM2/AUX and TOM3/4 inputs are mono only — they do not read rim signals. For best results, connect your most-used tom (typically the rack tom you'd cross-stick) to TOM1 and route any additional toms to TOM2-4 as mono.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from your primary 2-zone tom pad to the TOM1 input on the rear panel.
- For additional toms, use the TOM2/AUX (5/6) and TOM3/4 (7/8) inputs — these accept two pads per jack via an insert cable (PCS-31), but they read head signals only.
Module settings
- Hold [SHIFT] and press [EDIT (SETUP)] to enter setup mode, then select TRIG BASIC.
- Strike a tom so the display shows the input.
- On TOM1, set the Trigger Type to PD7/9 for simple piezo + switch dual-zone mesh pads, or PD80/100 for V-Pad style pads.
- On TOM2-4, set the Trigger Type to PD6 or similar single-zone preset — rim signals are ignored on these inputs.
Tips
- Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch — but only the TOM1 input reads the rim.
- If you want rim sounds on more than one tom, this module isn't going to give them to you — only TOM1 reads dual zones.
- Mesh pads with separate rim-trigger circuits (PD-80R / PD-120 style) only deliver rim sound on the dedicated SNARE input.
