Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 10" Low Tom when used with the Roland TD-30.

Yes — the T550 10" Low Tom works as a full tom on the Roland TD-30: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 inputs (1/4" TRS jacks)

Dual-zone tom triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection per tom input.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input on the rear panel.

Press the [TRIGGER] button.
Press the [F1] (BANK) button to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
Select the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input (strike the pad or use the TRIG SELECT buttons).
Use the [-] [+] buttons or the dial to set the trigger type to PD-105X or PD-85.
For finer control, press [F2] (SENS) and adjust Sensitivity on the TRIGGER SENSITIVITY screen.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim from a second piezo on the ring.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
