Setup — 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Strata Prime
WorksThe 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride is fully supported on your Alesis Strata Prime.
Bow
Edge
Wiring: 1× TRS → Cymbal 1–Cymbal 4 trigger input (1/4" TRS jack)
The four Cymbal trigger slots read Bow, Edge, and Bell, so a 2-zone crash lands its Bow and Edge zones with edge choke supported. Each Cymbal input is an individual 1/4" TRS jack.
Cable routing
- Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal to a Cymbal 1, Cymbal 2, Cymbal 3, or Cymbal 4 trigger input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Open Trigger Edit Mode and strike the cymbal, or use Hit Select, to select that Cymbal input.
- Pick the matching trigger preset so Bow and Edge respond and the edge registers a choke.
- Tune Sensitivity and Threshold to taste; set Choke Time for how long you must grab the edge to mute.
Tips
- Bow plays from the surface; Edge plays the second zone and supports choke when you grab it.
- If Bow and Edge feel swapped, toggle Invert Bell & Edge on that input.
- If a hard crash leaves late false triggers as the cymbal swings, raise Edge Decay Boost.
- If a nearby pad triggers this cymbal, run Learn XTalk on the pad that is causing the crosstalk.
18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
