WorksYes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-12: bow + bell + edge. It needs a one-time cymbal rewire first.

Wiring: Rewire the cymbal, then 2× TRS → Input 9 RIDE (Ride 2) + Input 10 EDGE (Ride 1) on the rear panel
All three zones (bow, bell, edge) using the TD-12's 3-Way Trigger, after a one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min). 3Way Trigger must be set to ON.

- Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input (Support guide: "Rewire your Lemon 3-zone ride").
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to Input 9 RIDE on the rear panel.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output to Input 10 EDGE on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press [TRIGGER], then [F1 (BANK)].
- Strike the ride to select the RIDE input (the cursor moves to the struck pad).
- Use [+/-] or [VALUE] to set the "Trigger Type" to CY15R or CY12RC.
- Press [F5 (ADVANCE)], then [F3 (3-WAY)], and set "3Way Trigger (Ride & Edge)" to ON - this routes the bell to Input 9's ring and the edge to Input 10 (shown as RD CTRL).
- Press [F2 (BASIC)] to fine-tune "Sensitivity" (1-32) and "Threshold" (0-31).
Tips
- Both cables are required for full 3-zone operation (bow, bell, edge).
- If 3Way Trigger is OFF, the bell zone will not be detected separately.
- If the ride doesn't play at all, check that Ride 2 goes to Input 9 RIDE and Ride 1 to Input 10 EDGE.
- If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, keep the cables where they are and follow the bell and edge section of the ride setup guide.
