18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-17
Setup — 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-17
WorksYes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-17: bow + bell + edge.

Wiring: 2× TRS → RD + RDB connectors on the DB-25 cable snake
Full 3-zone ride with separate RD (ride) and RDB (ride bell) connectors on the DB-25 cable snake — the TD-17KVX Setup Guide wires the stock CY-13R's BOW/EDGE jack to RD and its BELL jack to RDB, the same two-output layout as the Lemon ride.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RD (ride) connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to the RDB (ride bell) connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
Module settings
- Press [SETUP], turn the dial to select "Pad Settings", then press [ENTER].
- Press [F1] (TYPE), then strike the ride to select the RIDE input.
- Turn the dial to set Pad Type to CY13R or CY15R.
- Press [F2] (BASIC), select "Sensitivity", and turn the dial to adjust it.
Tips
- Both cables are required for full 3-zone operation (bell, bow, edge).
- If only one cable is connected, the ride will function as 2-zone only.
- If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, the two cables are reversed — swap them at the cymbal ends.
18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
