18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Yamaha DTX700

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Yamaha DTX700.

Setup — 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Yamaha DTX700

Reduced — 1-zone ride

The 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on your Yamaha DTX700 with reduced zones.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Ride input + 1× TRS → Ride Bell (PAD 11) input (1/4" TRS jacks)

The DTX700 has dedicated Ride and Ride Bell (PAD 11) inputs — two separate TRS jacks for full 3-zone ride.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride cymbal bow/edge cable to the Ride input.
  2. Connect the ride cymbal bell cable to the Ride Bell (PAD 11) input.
  3. Two separate 1/4" TRS cables are required for full 3-zone operation.

Module settings

  1. TRIGGER button > select Ride input > Trigger Setup: set Pad Type to a 3-zone ride cymbal.
  2. TRIGGER button > select PAD 11 (Ride Bell) > configure Pad Type and sensitivity.
  3. MENU > Trigger for additional ride settings.

Tips

  1. The DTX700 is one of few modules with a dedicated Ride Bell input (PAD 11), enabling true 3-zone ride.
  2. Bow, edge, and bell all trigger independently via separate inputs.
