WorksYes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-20: bow + bell + edge. It needs a one-time cymbal rewire first.

Wiring: Rewire the cymbal, then 2× TRS → Input 10 RIDE (Ride 2) + Input 11 EDGE (Ride 1) on the rear panel
All three zones (bow, bell, edge) using the TD-20's 3-Way Trigger, after a one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min). 3Way Trigger must be set to ON.

- Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input (Support guide: "Rewire your Lemon 3-zone ride").
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to Input 10 RIDE on the rear panel.
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output to Input 11 EDGE on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press [TRIGGER], then [F1 (BANK)] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
- Strike the ride to select the RIDE input.
- Use [+/-] or the [VALUE] dial to set Trig Type to CY15R or CY12R/C.
- Press [F5 (ADVANCE)], then [F3 (3-WAY)], and set 3Way Trigger to ON -- this routes Bow Shot to Input 10 RIDE head, Bell Shot to Input 10 RIDE rim, and Edge Shot to Input 11 EDGE rim.
- Press [F2 (BASIC)] and set Sensitivity and Threshold for the ride.
Tips
- Both cables are required for full 3-zone operation (bow, bell, edge).
- If 3Way Trigger is OFF, the ring on Input 10 reads as edge instead of bell.
- If the ride doesn't play at all, check that Ride 2 goes to Input 10 RIDE and Ride 1 to Input 11 EDGE.
- If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, keep the cables where they are and follow the bell and edge section of the ride setup guide.
