18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-20

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Roland TD-20.

Setup — 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-20

Reduced — 2-zone ride

The 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on your Roland TD-20 with reduced zones.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS (Cable 2) → Input 10 RIDE (BOW/BELL) — bow + bell

Connect Cable 2 (bow + bell) from the Lemon 3-zone ride cymbal to Input 10 RIDE (BOW/BELL). Bow and bell zones both work — Input 10 expects bow on tip and bell on ring, which matches Cable 2 exactly. Edge zone is not achievable with Lemon wiring (Input 11 EDGE cannot receive the bow signal). Full 3-zone requires two separate ride inputs with compatible wiring.

Cable routing

  1. Connect Cable 2 (the bow + bell cable) from the Lemon 3-zone ride cymbal to Input 10 RIDE (BOW/BELL) on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER] > [F1] BANK.
  2. Navigate to the RIDE input.
  3. Set the trigger type to CY-15R or CY-12R/C.
  4. Set 3Way Trigger to ON.

Tips

  1. Cable 2 gives you bow and bell — the two most important ride zones for most players.
  2. Edge zone is not achievable with Lemon wiring on this module.
  3. If you prefer edge over bell, use Cable 1 (bow + edge) into Input 10 instead — but bell will be lost.
  4. Full 3-zone (bow + edge + bell) is not possible with Lemon cymbals on the TD-20 due to its non-standard input architecture.
