Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash when used with the Roland V71.

The 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash is fully supported on your Roland V71.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 or CRASH2 input on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The V-71 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 or CRASH2 input on the rear panel.

Module settings

Press [TRIGGER] > [F1] BANK.
Navigate to the CRASH1 or CRASH2 input.
Set the trigger type to CY-12C or CY-14C depending on your cymbal size.

Tips

Bow and edge zones respond independently.
Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
The DIGITAL TRIGGER IN jacks are for Roland digital pads (CY-18DR) only.
