11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash on GEWA G5

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash when used with the GEWA G5.

Setup — 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash on GEWA G5

Works

Yes — the 11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash works as a full 2-zone crash on the GEWA G5: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Crash or AUX input (1/4" TRS jack)

Full dual-zone cymbal support with bow and edge.

Cable routing

  1. Connect to a CRASH input or an AUX input using a standard 1/4" TRS cable.
  2. Every trigger input is an individual 1/4" TRS jack. The rear panel's lower jack row reads AUX 2, AUX 1, CRASH 2, CRASH 1, HHCTRL, HI-HAT, RIDE, TOM 3, TOM 2, TOM 1, SNARE, KICK, FOOT SW — HHCTRL is the hi-hat-control jack and FOOT SW takes a footswitch, so neither is a pad input.

Module settings

  1. Press the [TRIGGER SELECT] button to set the pad type for the input the cymbal is on (Example: Cymbal = Edge, Bow, Bell).
  2. Press the [TRIGGER SETTINGS] button and turn the dial [5] [<INPUT>] to select that CRASH or AUX input.
  3. Press [F1] "Settings", use the dial [6] [<ZONE>] to choose BOW or EDGE, and adjust Threshold, Gain and the other parameters with the dials [5]/[7].

Tips

  1. Dual-zone bow and edge triggering is fully supported.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge, which the module reads as a switch.
11" Dual-Zone Splash/Crash also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
