15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-10

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Dual-Zone China when used with the Roland TD-10.

Setup — 15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-10

Works

Yes — the 15" Dual-Zone China works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-10: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1, CRASH2, or AUX input on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-10 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1, CRASH2, or AUX input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], then press [F1 (TRIG)], and then press [F1 (BANK)].
  2. Navigate to the CRASH1, CRASH2, or AUX input.
  3. Set the trigger type to PD7 — the TD-10's trigger-type list has no cymbal values at all; PD7 is a dual-trigger setting that reads bow (head) and edge (rim). If your hardest hits don't give a steady volume, try P1, then P2, which the manual recommends for pads by other makers.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
15" Dual-Zone China also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
