T950 13"x13" Floor Tom on Donner Beat Max

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T950 13"x13" Floor Tom when used with the Donner Beat Max.

Setup — T950 13"x13" Floor Tom on Donner Beat Max

Works

Yes — the T950 13"x13" Floor Tom works as a full tom on the Donner Beat Max: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: Via the stand's built-in snake — the Beat Max has no per-pad 1/4" trigger jacks, and the manual documents no pad-end connector

All four tom inputs are dual-zone — head and rim both trigger. The Beat Max supports four toms, one more than most mid-range modules.

Cable routing

  1. The Donner Beat Max module has no individual 1/4" pad-trigger jacks. Every pad connects through the drum stand's built-in snake, which terminates in a single multi-pin "Module data base socket" on the module.
  2. The manual documents no connection point for a standard 1/4" pad: panel item 10 is a "Module data base socket" that carries "signals/lights and other data from the drum pad", is built into the stand, and takes the module itself — not a pad. Check how your kit's own pads terminate at the stand before ordering.

Module settings

  1. From the main interface, tap EDITOR.
  2. With CHASE ON (default), strike the tom to select it — or turn CHASE OFF and pick it from the drum drop-down.
  3. Set Model to D_DP8 (8" pad), D_DP10 (10" pad), or D_DP10L (10" large) to match your pad size and enable dual-zone triggering.
  4. Adjust Pad Sensitivity, Rim Sensitivity, Threshold, Mask Time, and XTalk per tom.

Tips

  1. TOM1/TOM2 are mapped as high toms; TOM3/TOM4 as floor toms — assign voices accordingly in INSTRUMENT > VOICE.
  2. Tom MIDI notes (head / rim): TOM1 = 48/81, TOM2 = 45/77, TOM3 = 43/74, TOM4 = 41/72.
T950 13"x13" Floor Tom also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
