20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis CORE

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis CORE.

Setup — 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis CORE

Reduced — 2-zone ride

The 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on your Alesis CORE with reduced zones.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS (Cable 2) → RIDE input on the rear panel — bow + bell

This module's RIDE input supports 3-zone ride pads (the Trigger Edit Advanced menu exposes an "Invert Bell & Edge" parameter on R/C1–C4 cymbal inputs, confirming the input distinguishes bell from edge; the manual also states "All cymbals have bow, edge, and bell zones"). But Lemon 3-zone rides ship with two separate TRS cables (Cable 1 = bow + edge, Cable 2 = bow + bell) and this module has only one RIDE jack. With stock Cable 2 wiring you get bow + bell (2-zone). A 3-zone ride adapter (TRRS-to-TRS / Y-splitter) that carries all three piezos on one cable unlocks full 3-zone response.

Cable routing

  1. Connect Cable 2 (the bow + bell cable) from the Lemon 3-zone ride cymbal to the RIDE input.

Module settings

  1. Go to Kit → Trigger Mode and select the RIDE input.
  2. Choose a factory cymbal trigger preset (2-zone crash with choke), or set the pad type manually to a dual-zone cymbal.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity (1.0–32.0) and Threshold so bow and bell hits register consistently without bleed from nearby pads.
  4. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-bell sample on the second zone — bow and bell hits will play through Cable 2 as expected.

Tips

  1. Cable 2 delivers bow and bell — the two most-used zones for ride playing.
  2. Full simultaneous 3-zone operation is not available on this module — only one cable can be connected at a time.
  3. Want full 3-zone (bow + bell + edge independently) on this module's single Ride input? A 3-zone ride adapter (TRRS-to-TRS / Y-splitter) routes all three piezos down one cable and this module can separate them internally. Search for a 3-zone ride converter — with that adapter, this partial-fit becomes a full fit.
